Wedding Gifts: Show your true emotions to your spouse
Posted by  FirstPhera Team  on  Thursday, May 15, 2008

You both have forked out lot of bucks after gifting your loved one during the golden days of engagement. But now you are going to be tied in wedding knot, and as couples are, puzzled about what you should gift your bride or groom. Here are some tips on what you should gift to your bride or groom.

To make your wedding memorable, you want to give something precious to your spouse; the thing that can be a life-long memory and that can be used by your partner.

Need & taste of your bride/groom

After spending a hell lot of, oops, a heaven lot of time with your fiancé/fiancée, now you know likes and dislikes of your girl/boy (if you don’t know, what on earth you have done all the time!). Gifting your bride or groom with what s/he needs, puts a broad smile on his/her face. After all, you want to please your partner, and not yourself.

Gift from Groom

For the brides, diamonds are forever. They yearn for diamonds and gold jewelry, and perhaps for you also . A gold ring embedded with diamond can be an ideal gift for your bride. Earrings of diamonds and pearls are a popular choice for their timeless, elegant beauty. You can also surprise your bride with a charm bracelet, a heart of love, a star for dreams that come true.

The groom's wedding gift for the bride doesn't need to be extravagant. Sometimes the simplest gestures mean a lot. Show your true emotions with flowers: roses, lilies and tulips. Whatever her favourite flowers, whether it's a single bloom or a full bouquet flowers are a traditional gift of love. A personalized jewelery box is great for  storing future heirloom pieces. Teddy Bear is the simplest and the sweetest thing to gift. A book of romantic poetry (or even better, a poem you wrote yourself). And if you had made yourself a Wedding Website, nothing beats a personalized coffee-table book.

Gift from Bride

Your fiancé is likely to be glad about any gift you give him, but this is the time to get that special item he's always wanted. Remember, this is not a Diwali or a birthday gift you are giving to him. Your wedding is a once in a lifetime event which deserves a special gift. Your gift should be selected for its personal significance and be an item he will cherish for years to come. You may already have the perfect gift in mind. If not, here are some tips to consider:

For grooms, they love to play with electronic gadgets. And mobile phone can be the coolest device to gift your groom. You can make him call you every afternoon from his office so that he cannot fix a ‘meeting’ with his secretary. Other options might be: Tickets to a cricket match (IPL is in full swing), gold or silver cuff links engraved with his monogram or initials, luggage, fitness equipment or electronics (say a Home Theatre System, he always wanted?)

As to when to give the wedding gift to each other, there are several favourable moments. A romantic dinner just before a week of wedding; during the luxurious ride to the reception following the ceremony or at the end of the evening in your honeymoon suite - the perfect way to make your special day memorable. Don’t forget to include a card or note with your gift.

Enjoy the gifting experience, and celebrate the romance.
