With the June wedding season in full bloom, Brides.com (www.brides.com/), Condé Nast's premier bridal destination, recently partnered with The Associated Press (www.ap.org/) to poll American wedding guests on whether or not the recession is impacting how much they spend to join in “I do” festivities. The survey revealed some counter-intuitive trends, including that, despite a downturn in the economy, wedding guests are still showering newlyweds with gifts—and that cost is not a deterrent for Americans to attend weddings.

New Feature - Music within your browser

For those of you who have visited their wedsite recently would have noticed a pleasant change in how music plays in the background of your wedsite. Playing some background music while users browse through your wedsite is perhaps one of the most popular features on FirstPhera and is also pretty standard across wedding websites.

Our initial implementation of music players was in a flash player embedded within a popup window. Since a wedsite comes with multiple pages, music cannot be embedded within a single page, otherwise it'd trigger the song to restart everytime a new page is opened. The popup window solved that problem and was easy to implement. Bingo! Or may be not...

Unless there was an explicit user click, most browsers will block a popup window. We gamed this user click ...
